A vulnerability has been identified in Linux Kernel, which could be exploited by local attackers to cause a denial of service or gain elevated privileges. This issue is caused by a NULL pointer dereference error in the "pipe_read_open()", "pipe_write_open()", and "pipe_rdwr_open()" [fs/pipe.c] functions when the mutex lock is not held, which could allow malicious users to panic a vulnerable system or gain elevated privileges.
