>> Websense Email Security and Personal Email Manager Vulnerabilities
|
Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Websense Email Security and Personal Email Manager, which could be exploited by attackers to gain knowledge of sensitive information or cause a denial of service.
The first issue is caused by an error in the Web Administrator service (STEMWADM.EXE) when processing HTTP requests sent to port 8181/TCP, which could cause a vulnerable service to crash an restart, creating a denial of service condition.
The second vulnerability is caused by input validation errors in the web interface and "web/msgList/viewmsg/actions/msgAnalyse.asp", "web/msgList/viewmsg/actions/msgForwardToRiskFilter.asp" and "web/msgList/viewmsg/viewHeaders.asp" scripts when processing the "FileName", "IsolatedMessageID", "ServerName", "Dictionary", "Scoring", "MessagePart" and "Queue" parameters or when displaying email subjects, which could be exploited by attackers to cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the user's browser in the security context of an affected Web site.
