Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Microsoft Windows Media Runtime, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable system.
The first issue is caused by a memory corruption error when processing specially crafted ASF files that make use of the Window Media Speech codec, which could be exploited to execute arbitrary code via a malicious ASF file or web page.
The second vulnerability is caused due to the Windows Media Runtime not properly initializing certain functions in compressed audio files, which could be exploited to execute arbitrary code via a malicious media file or streaming content.
