A vulnerability has been identified in EMC Captiva PixTools Distributed Imaging ActiveX control, which could be exploited by remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system. This issue is caused by an error in the "PDIControl.dll" control that does not restrict access to the "SetLogFileName()" and "WriteToLog()" methods, which could be exploited by attackers to create or overwrite arbitrary files on a vulnerable system and execute malicious code by tricking a user into visiting a specially crafted web page.
