A vulnerability has been identified in Awingsoft Awakening Winds3D, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable system. This issue is caused due to the plugin using the insecure "GetURL()" method, which could allow attackers to trick a user into automatically downloading and executing arbitrary files while visiting a specially crafted web page.

Affected Products

Awingsoft Awakening Winds3D Viewer version 3.5.0.0 and prior

Solution

Set a kill bit for the CLSID {17A54E7D-A9D4-11D8-9552-00E04CB09903} and disable the plugin.

VUPEN Security is not aware of any vendor-supplied patch.
