A vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft Windows, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise an affected system. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in the ActiveX control for streaming video "MSVidCtl.dll" when reading a file containing overly long data, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into visiting a specially crafted web page.

This vulnerability is currently being exploited in the wild.

A second memory corruption issue in "MSVidCtl.dll" was inadvertently fixed by this security update.
