>> CUPS Multiple Integer Overflow and Denial of Service Vulnerabilities
|
Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in CUPS, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service or compromise a vulnerable system.
The first issues are caused by integer overflow errors in the "pdftops" filter (pdftops/Decrypt.cxx, pdftops/FoFiTrueType.cxx, pdftops/gmem.c, pdftops/JBIG2Stream.cxx, and pdftops/PSOutputDev.cxx) when processing malformed PDF files, which could allow attackers to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary code.
The second vulnerability is caused by a use-after-free error in the in the CUPS Directory Services routine when processing CUPS browse packets, which could be exploited to crash an affected daemon.
