A vulnerability has been identified in IBM AIX, which could be exploited by local attackers to gain elevated privileges. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in the setuid root binary "/usr/sbin/muxatmd" when concatenating the calling program name with the static string ".pid", which could allow malicious users to execute arbitrary code with "root" privileges.
