A vulnerability has been identified in GOM Encoder, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable system. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow error when processing subtitle files (.srt) containing overly long data, which could be exploited by attackers to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into opening a malicious media file.

GOM Encoder version 1.0.0.11 and prior

Solution

VUPEN Security is not aware of any vendor-supplied patch.
