A vulnerability has been identified in Cisco Unified Communications Manager, which could be exploited by attackers or malicious users to gain elevated privileges. This issue is caused due to CUCM sending Directory Manager password and TabSyncSysUser (axl user) password in clear from client when using the IP Phone Personal Address Book (PAB) Synchronizer feature, which may allow an attacker to intercept user credentials and and obtain complete administrative access to a vulnerable system, or gain access to additional systems configured to use the directory service for authentication when CUCM is integrated with an external directory service.
