A vulnerability has been identified in Cain & Abel, which could be exploited by attackers to compromise a vulnerable system. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in the Cisco IOS-MD5 Cracker when processing a configuration file containing overly long data, which could allow attackers to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into importing a specially crafted file.

Affected Products

Cain & Abel version 4.9.25 and prior

Solution

Upgrade to Cain & Abel version 4.9.26.
