Two vulnerabilities have been identified in GNU Enscript, which could be exploited by attackers to compromise a vulnerable system.
The first issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in the "read_special_escape()" [src/psgen.c] function when processing the "setfilename" escape sequence, which could be exploited to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary code via a malicious file.
The second vulnerability is caused by a buffer overflow error in the "read_special_escape()" [src/psgen.c] function when processing the "font" escape sequence, which could be exploited to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary code via a malicious file.

GNU Enscript version 1.6.4 and prior
Solution
VUPEN Security is not aware of any vendor-supplied patch.
