Technical Description
Two vulnerabilities have been identified in Symantec Altiris Deployment Solution, which could be exploited by malicious users to gain elevated privileges or disclose sensitive information.
The first issue is caused by an error in the Client GUI, which could be exploited by local attackers to bypass client security settings via windows messaging, and gain elevated privileges.
The second vulnerability is caused due to the agent storing the Application Identity Account password, set during installation, in clear text in system memory, which could allow malicious users to retrieve the password and make unauthorized modifications to client systems on the network (e.g. deploy unauthorized software).
