A vulnerability has been identified in OpenVMS, which could be exploited by local attackers to cause a denial of service or gain elevated privileges. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in the "SMGSHR.EXE" image when processing malformed data, which could allow malicious users to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary code.
