A vulnerability has been identified in LibTIFF, which could be exploited by attackers to compromise a vulnerable system. This issue is caused by a buffer underflow error in the "LZWDecodeCompat()", "LZWDecode()", and "LZWDecodeVector()" [tif_lzw.c] functions when decoding malformed LZW data, which could be exploited by attackers to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into opening a malicious TIFF file.

LibTIFF version 3.8.2 and prior

Solution

VUPEN Security is not aware of any vendor-supplied patch.
