>> Novell iPrint Client ActiveX Control Code Execution Vulnerabilities
|
Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Novell iPrint Client, which could be exploited by remote attackers to disclose sensitive information, cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system. These issues are caused by buffer overflow and input validation errors in "ienipp.ocx" and "nipplib.dll" when processing specially crafted data passed to the "GetDriverFile()", "GetPrinterURLList()", "GetPrinterURLList2()", "GetFileList()", "GetServerVersion()", "GetResourceList()", "DeleteResource()", "UploadPrinterDriver()", "UploadResource()", "ExecuteRequest()", "IppGetDriverSettings()", "GetDriverSettings()", and "UploadResourceToRMS()" methods, which could be exploited by remote attackers to gain knowledge of any image file names in arbitrary directories on a user's system, crash an affected browser, or execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into visiting a malicious web page.
