A vulnerability has been identified in Debian, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service or compromise a vulnerable system. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in Newsx when processing a news article containing a large number of lines starting with a period, which could be exploited to crash an affected application or execute arbitrary code.
