A vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft Windows, which could be exploited by local attackers to gain elevated privileges. This issue is caused by an error in the Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) that does not properly validate the data structures within specially crafted WINS network packets, which could allow a malicious user to run arbitrary code with elevated privileges and take complete control of an affected system.
