Technical Description
Two vulnerabilities have been identified in Microsoft DirectX, which could be exploited by remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system. These issues are caused by buffer overflow errors when processing malformed Synchronized Accessible Media Interchange (SAMI) files, or MJPEG video streams embedded in ASF or AVI media files, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash a vulnerable application or execute arbitrary code by tricking a user into opening and viewing a specially crafted media file.
