Technical Description
A vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft Windows, which could be exploited by attackers to spoof and redirect Internet traffic from legitimate locations. This issue is caused by an error in the DNS Client service that does not provide enough entropy in its random choice of transaction values when performing DNS queries, which could allow an attacker who has successfully gained information about DNS client transaction IDs to use that information to send malicious responses to DNS requests.
