A vulnerability has been identified in Borland CaliberRM, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in the "PGMWebHandler::parse_request()" function within the StarTeam Multicast Service component (STMulticastService) when processing overly long HTTP requests sent to port 3057/TCP, which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated attackers to crash an affected service or execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.
Note: The StarTeam Multicast service is not installed by default. The user must enable MPX Events and the StarTeam Message Broker option during the installation process.
