>> ASG-Sentry Remote Buffer Overflow and Security Bypass Vulnerabilities
|
Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in ASG-Sentry, which could be exploited by remote attackers to bypass security restrictions, cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system.
The first issue is caused by an input validation error in the File Check Utility (fcheck.exe) when creating index files, which could be exploited by attackers to corrupt arbitrary files, creating a denial of service condition.
The second vulnerability is caused by a heap overflow error in the FxAgent component when processing malformed SNMP requests sent to port 6161/UDP, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash an affected process or execute arbitrary code.
The third issue is caused y a design error in the FxIAList service that does not require authentication, which could be exploited by attackers to terminate a vulnerable service by executing the "exit" command.
The fourth vulnerability is caused by a buffer overflow error in the FxIAList service when logging requests sent to port 6162/TCP, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash an affected process or execute arbitrary code.
