A vulnerability has been identified in IBM Lotus Notes, which could be exploited by remote attackers to bypass security restrictions and compromise a vulnerable system. This issue is caused by an error in the Execution Control List (ECL) mechanism when forwarding email messages containing unsigned applets, which could be exploited by attackers to cause an unsigned applet to be signed by tricking a user into forwarding a malicious email containing the applet to another user (with the "Enable Java Applets" option enabled within User Preferences) using Lotus Notes, leading to the execution of arbitrary code with the permissions of the final user.
