A vulnerability has been identified in freeSSHd, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service. This issue is caused by a NULL pointer dereference error when handling specially crafted SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS packets, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash a vulnerable server, creating a denial of service condition.

freeSSHd version 1.2.0 and prior

Solution

VUPEN Security is not aware of any vendor-supplied patch.
