A vulnerability has been identified in NamoInstaller ActiveX Control, which could be exploited by remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system. This issue is caused by a design error in the "NamoInstaller.dll" module that includes an insecure "Install()" method, which could be exploited by attackers to download and execute arbitrary files on a vulnerable system by tricking a user into visiting a specially crafted web page.

NamoInstaller ActiveX Control version 3.0.0.1 and prior

Solution

Set a kill bit for the CLSID {AF465549-1D22-4140-A273-386FA8877E0A}.

VUPEN Security is not aware of any vendor-supplied patch.
