Technical Description
A vulnerability has been identified in various Redhat products, which could be exploited by malicious users to gain elevated privileges. This issue is caused by an error in the default configuration of autofs where the entry for the "hosts" map did not specify the "nodev" mount option, which could allow a local user with control of a remote NFS server could create special device files on the remote file system that, if mounted using the default "-hosts" map, would allow the user to access important system devices.
