A vulnerability has been identified in Linux Kernel, which could be exploited by local attackers to gain knowledge of sensitive information. This issue is caused by an error in the "do_coredump()" [fs/exec.c] function that does not validate the UID of an existing core dump file before a root process creates a core dump in the same location, which could allow local users to obtain potentially sensitive information.

Upgrade to Linux Kernel version 2.6.24-rc4 :
