Technical Description

Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Mozilla Firefox and Seamonkey, which could be exploited by attackers to bypass security restrictions, disclose sensitive information, cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system.

The first issue is caused by memory corruption errors in the browser and JavaScript engines when parsing malformed data, which could be exploited by attackers to crash a vulnerable application or execute arbitrary code.

The second vulnerability is caused by an error when handling onUnload events, which could be exploited by malicious web sites to conduct phishing attacks.

The third issue is caused by an error when processing the user ID within an HTTP request when using Digest Authentication, which could be exploited to inject arbitrary HTTP headers.

The fourth vulnerability is caused by an error when processing file upload controls, which could be exploited by malicious web sites to steal arbitrary files from a vulnerable system and potentially obtain sensitive information.

The fifth issue is caused by an error when handling web pages written in the XUL markup language, which could be exploited by malicious web sites to hide a window's title bar and conduct spoofing and phishing attacks.

The sixth vulnerability is caused by an error when processing "smb:" and "sftp:" URIs on Linux systems machines with gnome-vfs support, which could potentially be exploited by attackers to read arbitrary files from a vulnerable system.

The seventh issue is caused due to the "Script" object being able to modify XPCNativeWrappers, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary code via a specially crafted web page.
