A vulnerability has been identified in CyberLink PowerDVD, which could be exploited by attackers to corrupt arbitrary files. This issue is caused by a design error in the "CreateNewFile()" method within the "CLAVSetting.DLL" ActiveX Control, which could be exploited by attackers to overwrite arbitrary files on a vulnerable system by tricking a user into visiting a malicious web page.

Solution
Set a kill bit for the CLSID {0990EDE2-3498-43D0-971D-D5321C893210}.
VUPEN Security is not aware of any vendor-supplied patch.
