Technical Description
A vulnerability has been identified in SmbFTPD, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary commands. This issue is caused by a format string error in the "SMBDirList()" [dirlist.c] function when listing and displaying specially crafted filenames, which could be exploited by attackers to compromise a vulnerable system via a file with a specially crafted filename.
