A vulnerability has been identified in Cisco IOS, which could be exploited by malicious users to bypass security restrictions and gain knowledge of sensitive information. This issue is caused by an unspecified error in the server side of the Secure Copy (SCP) implementation, which may allow any valid but unauthorized user, regardless of privilege level, to retrieve or write to any file on the device's filesystem, including the device's saved configuration.
Note : Devices that are not specifically configured to enable the IOS Secure Copy Server service are not affected by this vulnerability.
