Two vulnerabilities have been identified in Microsoft Windows, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system.

The first issue is caused by an error in the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) service when processing the number of convertible attributes included in a LDAP request, which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated (Windows 2000) or authenticated (Windows 2003) attackers to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

The second vulnerability is caused by an error in the LDAP service when processing client-sent LDAP requests, which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated attackers to cause a vulnerable Windows 2000 system to stop responding, creating a denial of service condition.
