Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Ingres products, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system.

The first issue is caused by stack overflow errors in the communications server (iigcc.exe) and Data Access/JDCB server (iigcd.exe) when processing overly long requests, which could be exploited by unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code.

The second vulnerability is caused by unspecified pointer overwrite errors in the database server, which could be exploited by unauthenticated attackers to compromise a vulnerable system.

The third issue is caused by an error in the world-executable "wakeup" binary when creating the "alarmwkp.def" file in the current directory, which could be exploited by malicious local users to truncate a file with the privileges of the "ingres" user.

The fourth vulnerability is caused by a buffer overflow error when processing an overly long argument passed to the "uuid_from_char()" function, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary code.

The fifth issue is caused by a buffer overflow error in the Ingres verifydb utility when processing malformed data via the "duve_get_args()" function, which could be exploited by local attackers to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
