Two vulnerabilities have been identified in Apple QuickTime, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or disclose sensitive information.
The first issue is caused by an implementation error in QuickTime for Java where objects outside the bounds of the allocated heap can be manipulated, which could be exploited by attackers to compromise a vulnerable system by tricking a user into visiting a web page containing a specially crafted Java applet.
The second vulnerability is caused by a design error in QuickTime for Java that does not clear memory before allowing it to be used by Java applets, which could be exploited by attackers to disclose the web browser's memory via a malicious web page containing a specially crafted applet.
