Two vulnerabilities have been identified in Cisco IOS, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable device or cause a denial of service.

The first issue is caused by improper verification of user credentials within the FTP Server, which could be exploited by remote attackers to bypass the authentication process and retrieve or write any file from the device filesystem (including the configuration file).

The second vulnerability is caused by an error in the FTP Server when transferring certain files, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a vulnerable device to reload, creating a denial of service condition.

Note : The FTP Server is disabled by default.
