Technical Description
A vulnerability has been identified in CA BrightStor ARCserve Backup, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service or take complete control of an affected system. This issue is due to an input validation error in the "Mediasvr.exe" service when processing specially crafted 191 (0xbf) RPC requests, which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated attackers to crash a vulnerable application or execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges.
