A vulnerability has been identified in Mod_perl, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service. This issue is due to an error in the "namespace_from()" (versions 1.x) and "namespace_from_uri()" (versions 2.x) functions that do not validate the "path_info" parameter before being used, which could be exploited by attackers to crash an affected web server via a specially crafted URL.
