Title : Libwpd WordPerfect File Handling Multiple Client-Side Code Execution Vulnerabilities VUPEN ID : VUPEN/ADV-2007-0976 CVE ID : CVE-2007-0002 - CVE-2007-1466
Rated as : High Risk
Remotely Exploitable : Yes Locally Exploitable : Yes Release Date : 2007-03-16
Technical Description
Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Libwpd, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary commands. These issues are due to integer and buffer overflow errors in the "WP6GeneralTextPacket::_readContents", "WP3TablesGroup::_readContents()" and "WP5DefinitionGroup_DefineTablesSubGroup::WP5DefinitionGroup_DefineTablesSubGroup()" functions when processing data read from a malformed Wordperfect file, which could be exploited by attackers to compromise a vulnerable system by tricking a user into opening a specially crafted document using an application linked against a vulnerable library.
