Two vulnerabilities have been identified in PHP, which could be exploited by malicious users to bypass security restrictions and execute arbitrary commands.
The first issue is due to a double free error inthe "session_regenerate_id()" function when generating new session identifiers, which could be exploited by attackers to bypass PHP restrictions and execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system via a malicious PHP script.
The second vulnerability is due to a double free error inthe "php_session_initialize()" function when rejecting session identifiers, which could be exploited by attackers to bypass PHP restrictions and execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system via a malicious PHP script.

Solution
The first vulnerability was fixed in version 5.2.2 and 4.4.7.
VUPEN Security is not aware of any vendor-supplied patch.
