Gentoo has released security updates to address a vulnerability identified in thttpd. This issue is due to an error in the start-stop-daemon that performs a "chdir /" command just before starting the thttpd process, which could cause the thttpd process to start with the document root set to "/" allowing remote attackers to read and gain unauthorized access to arbitrary files.
