A vulnerability has been identified in Xpdf, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service. This issue is due to an infinite loop in the "Catalog::readPageTree()" function when processing a PDF document containing a specially crafted catalog dictionary or Pages attribute that references an invalid page tree node, which could be exploited by attackers to crash a vulnerable application via a malformed PDF file.
