Technical Description

A vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft PowerPoint, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a denial of service. This flaw is due to a NULL pointer dereference error when processing a presentation containing a container object with an invalid "position" value, which could be exploited by attackers to crash a vulnerable application by tricking a user into opening a specially crafted document.

Solution

Do not open or save Office documents received from un-trusted sources.
