A vulnerability has been identified in Adobe Macromedia Contribute Publishing Server, which could be exploited by malicious users to gain knowledge of sensitive information. This issue is due to a design error where the administrative password set during the installation process is stored in the "installvariables.properties" log file, which could be exploited by local attackers to disclose the administrator password and gain unauthorized access to a vulnerable application.

Affected Products

Adobe Macromedia Contribute Publishing Server (CPS) versions 1.x

Solution

The vendor recommends changing the password and delete the installation log file :
