Title : CA eTrust Security Command Center and eTrust Audit Multiple Remote Vulnerabilities VUPEN ID : VUPEN/ADV-2006-3738 CVE ID : CVE-2006-4899 - CVE-2006-4900 - CVE-2006-4901
Rated as : Moderate Risk
Remotely Exploitable : Yes Locally Exploitable : Yes Release Date : 2006-09-21
Technical Description
Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in CA eTrust Security Command Center and CA eTrust Audit, which could be exploited by attackers or malicious users to disclose sensitive information or bypass security restrictions.
The first issue is due to an error in the "ePPIServlet" script that does not properly handle a "PIProfile" parameter containing a quote character, which could be exploited by malicious users to disclose the installation path.
The second flaw is due to an input validation error in the "eSMPAuditServlet" script and the "getadhochtml" function that do not validate the "eSCCAdHocHtmlFile" parameter before being used as a temporary file location, which could be exploited by malicious users to read and delete arbitrary files.
The third weakness is due to missing authentication checks in the event alerting system, which could be exploited by malicious people to execute external replay attacks and send false-positives alerts to the application.
