A vulnerability has been identified in Linux Kernel, which may be exploited by local attackers to cause a denial of service. This flaw is due to an error on PPC970 systems [arch/powerpc/kernel/cpu_setup_power4.S] when the support processor attention enable (HID0[31]) is not set, which could be exploited by malicious users to crash a vulnerable system, creating a denial of service condition.
