Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Open Cubic Player, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary commands. These flaws are due to buffer overflow errors in the "mpLoadS3M()" [playgmd/gmdls3m.cpp], "itplayerclass::module::load()" [playit/itload.cpp], "mpLoadULT()" [playgmd/gmdlult.cpp], and "mpLoadAMS()" [playgmd/gmdlams.cpp] functions when handling malformed files, which could be exploited by attackers to compromise a vulnerable systeme via a malicious file (e.g. IT or AMS).

Open Cubic Player version 0.1.10_rc5 and prior

Solution

VUPEN Security is not aware of any vendor-supplied patch.
