Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in Cisco Security Monitoring Analysis and Response System (CS-MARS), which could be exploited by remote or local attackers to take complete control of an affected system or gain knowledge of sensitive information.

The first issue is due to an error in the embedded database that contains several default accounts which known passwords, which could be exploited by attackers to gain unauthorized access to the database and disclose sensitive information.

The second vulnerability is due to an error in the embedded JBoss web application server, which could be exploited by remote unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands with the privileges of the CS-MARS administrator via the JBoss JMX console.

The third flaw is due to errors in the CLI that does not properly validate certain commands, which could be exploited by malicious administrators to execute shell commands on the underlying appliance operating system with root privileges.
