A vulnerability has been identified in Symantec pcAnywhere, which could be exploited by local attackers to obtain elevated privileges. This flaw is due to a design error where Caller Files (CIF) are insecurely stored to and read from the "Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\pcAnywhere\Hosts\" folder, which could be exploited by unprivileged users to gain administrative privileges by creating a specially crafted CIF file and setting the superuser flag.
