A vulnerability has been identified in Linux Kernel, which could be exploited by local attackers to cause a denial of service. This flaw is due to an error in the USB FTDI SIO driver [drivers/usb/serial/ftdi_sio.c] that does not limit the amount of outstanding and queued data that should be written to the serial port, which could be exploited by malicious users to exhaust all available memory resources, creating a denial of service condition.
