Technical Description
A vulnerability has been identified in Symantec Security Information Manager, which could be exploited by local attackers to bypass security restrictions. This flaw is due to an error in the M4 Macro Library that does not validate raw rule definitions before being transformed into java code that can be executed by the rule-engine, which could be exploited by malicious users to obtain shell execution under the sesuser account name during the M4 transformation via a specially crafted rule.
